Dr. Ileana C. Farcasanu
Group leader
https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4901-7896
https://unibuc.ro/user/ileana.farcasanu/
The group leader is a researcher with vast experience in developing the model eukaryotic microorganism Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a toolbox for interdisciplinary research in the fields of chemistry and biotechnology. Dr. Farcasanu has a strong background of research formation in the field of yeast molecular genetics and biotechnology (8 years in Japan, 1 year in UK) and with a network of collaborators from Japan, Norway, Italy and China.

Dr. Lavinia L. Ruta
Researcher
http://orcid.org/0000-0001-9287-5485
https://unibuc.ro/user/lavinia+ruta/
Dr. Ruta is a researcher with double specialization: Pharmacy and Chemistry. She is specialized in techniques of cellular biology, recombinant DNA technology, PCR analysis, techniques of immobilization of biomolecules on the solid supports and physical characterization of this supports, standard techniques of yeast genetics. She works on molecular and bioinformatics approaches to engineer yeast and plants designed to hyperaccumulate heavy metals without interfering with the normal metabolism.

Dr. Eliza Oprea
Researcher
https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7051-4136
https://unibuc.ro/user/eliza.oprea
Dr. Oprea, Bachelor in Chemistry and Pharmacy, has concerns in the field of evaluation of biological properties (antimicrobial activity, antioxidant properties, hypoglycemic activity, cicatrizing activity, phytotoxic activity) through in vivo and in vitro studies of various extracts obtained from different sources. She was involved in characterizing them by different methods (spectrophotometric, GC-MS or HPLC). She developed skills in research studies concerning the evaluation of the plasma and red blood cell redox status in pathological conditions (diabetes, post-acute stroke).

Dr. Claudia V. Popa
Researcher
https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9113-4669
Dr. Popa is a biochemist involved in studies concerning natural and synthetic compounds with biological activity, pharmaceutical forms and plant extracts. She has a strong experience in determination of active principles and total antioxidant capacity of complex samples by different methods (spectrophotometric, luminescent, fluorescent, chromatographic and nano-oxides based methods). Biocatalysts. Determination of enzyme activity.
